UFI & PCN
UFI and PCN
UFI stands for Unique Formula Identifier. It is an alphanumeric code consisting of 16 characters with an internal control key. The UFI code ensures that the mixture can be quickly identified in case of an incident. This allows for prompt and effective action to provide the right assistance and minimize the consequences of an incident as much as possible.
To register a product with the EU Poison Centers, there is now a centralized portal. Through this portal, a single registration can be made for all required countries. The format and required information are the same for all countries. To register via the PCN portal, information is needed about the composition of the product, as well as its physical properties and packaging.
In addition to a UFI code, an EuPCS code is also required. EuPCS stands for European Product Categorization System. This system assigns a code to products based on their main intended use.
